How It Works

Navigating MSN Direct

Navigating the MSN® Direct application is fun, intuitive, and most importantly,
easy to use.

To switch between MSN Direct channels, press Left or Right. This works when you're on the home screen, as well as when you're in full screen mode.

To view and scroll through detailed content, use the Up and Down arrow keys on your phone.

* On Touch screen phones, you can also touch the arrows drawn on the screen to navigate Left and Right between channels. Use the scroll bar to view and scroll through detailed content.

Customizing MSN Direct

Customizing MSN Direct for your phone is simple and takes seconds.

Weather

  1. Navigate to the Weather channel on the home screen of your phone.
  2. Press Select to enter full screen mode.
  3. Press the left soft key Options.
  4. Select Weather to change Weather Channel options.
  5. Weather Options:
    • Set Local City – choose your city from the list of available cities.
    • Set Cities – add up to three additional cities from the available list.
    • Set Temperature Unit – switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

News

  1. Navigate to any of the News channels on the home screen of your phone.
  2. Press Select to enter full screen mode.
  3. Press the left soft key Options.
  4. Select News to change News Channel options.
  5. News Options:
    • Choose your news – Pick the type of news you want to receive, including World, Sports, Business, Entertainment, Tech, Travel, Health, or News of the Weird.

Stocks

  1. Navigate to the Stocks channel on the home screen of your phone.
  2. Press Select to enter full screen mode.
  3. Add stocks to your phone by following one of two options:
    • Select an existing stock symbol, and then press Edit. This allows you to type in a new stock symbol.
    • Scroll down to the option Add New Symbol, and then type in a new symbol. Press OK when you're done to add the symbol.
  4. To remove a stock symbol:
      Select an existing stock symbol, delete the symbol characters. Press OK when you're done to delete the symbol.

Other Options

You can also do one of the following from the Options Menu:

  1. Refresh Data - Select this option to refresh all of your MSN Direct content.
  2. Enable Roaming - By default, when you are not on your operator's home network, MSN Direct will turn its content service off to avoid roaming charges. To enable MSN Direct content when roaming, select Network and then check the Enable Roaming box.
